Spotted – Color Co-ordinated Looks
On Jun 20, 2012 FASHION FEED | Spotted 0 No Comments Tags: Ashley Greene, Lydia Bright, Malin Akerman, Penelope Cruz, Rihanna, Salma HayekCelebrities are unofficial rule makers of fashion trends. We look to them for inspiration and while some rules can be hard to follow the latest one we’ve spotted seems almost fool proof. The rules couldn’t be simpler: pick a color, any color you like, now find shoes, bag and accessories to match! Matching up your outfit just got a whole lot easier, this is color blocking in its simplest form.
The concept of one color co-ordination is straight-forward but attention to detail is the key to success in achieving a dressed to impressed look. There are so many ways to play with this trend. Play it safe with more neutral tones like Ashley Greene, Malin Akerman and Penelope Cruz who dress up all in one black, silver and nude with sequins and sparkle.
Color co-ordinating in a bright color gives the trend a more playful edge and creates a real eye-catching statement for all the right reasons. Rihanna gives new meaning to ‘lady in red’ wearing vibrant chinos, casual sweater and playful patterned brogues. Lydia is both bright by name and bright by nature in a sunshine yellow asymmetrical dress partnered with a chunky clutch bag, while Salma’s lilac look has a retro 80’s feel about it thanks to the shoulder pads and sequins. Follow her lead with a pastel dress and team with matching set of shoes and clutch in a deeper shade.
